Stop Asian Hate | Data + Photography

Spring 2021

Starting in late 2019 with the outbreak of COVID-19, a significant amount of hate crimes against Asian-descent individuals exponentially rose. Stop AAPI Hate, an organization dedicated to tracking these crimes, reported over 10,000 crimes in September 2020 and the data was available for all to view.


This movement took time to gain traction and as a project, I wrote a data story linked here to talk about more what was happening. The following photos I took that were used.
